Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered throws players into intense battles against formidable Abductors. To conquer these towering foes, utilizing every tool in your arsenal is crucial. This guide details how to obtain and effectively use the Flare Knife, a valuable combat item.

Acquiring the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. After achieving Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. This vendor sells a range of weapons and items, including the Flare Knife, for 3,000 Entitlement Points.

Equipping the Flare Knife is straightforward. Navigate to the Loadout menu within the Personal Responsibility Portal and select an available Combat Item slot. Your Flare Knife will be listed there for selection and deployment into battle.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a reusable tool specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This offers a strategic advantage to players favoring Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, eliminating the need to switch to Light Melee weapons for limb severing. However, remember that it's a single-use item per operation; repurchase is necessary for subsequent engagements.

To employ the Flare Knife, lock onto a severable Abductor limb. Use your Thorn to grapple onto the target area. With the Flare Knife equipped, a sever option will appear. A quick-time event (QTE) will initiate, demanding rapid button mashing to successfully sever the limb. Be wary of Abductor counterattacks; they might interrupt the process with leaps or crashes.

Cooperative online play enhances the Flare Knife's effectiveness. Repeatedly snaring the Abductor with teammates significantly simplifies the severing process.
