A Kindling Forest is an exciting new game crafted by Dennis Berndtsson, a solo developer who also juggles the role of a high-school teacher. This side-scrolling auto-runner is packed with innovative mechanics, featuring lush forests, flying arrows, and plenty of dangerous lava.
What's the Story of A Kindling Forest?
In the game's narrative, an ancient demon has unleashed chaos upon the world. In response, forest spirits awaken an archer from the past, equipping him with a bow and charging him with the mission to vanquish the demon. Yet, nothing in A Kindling Forest is as simple as it seems.
The gameplay keeps you on your toes as the screen constantly scrolls, presenting you with an array of sharp, shard-like obstacles in various intricate patterns. Your options? Dodge them or take them down with your arrows. These arrows, a gift from the forest spirits, are crucial to your survival. Run out, and it's game over, making every shot you take critical.
Spanning five increasingly chaotic levels, A Kindling Forest challenges you to navigate through spiders, teleport to ancient ruins, soar over clouds, and evade streams of lava. Strategically placed checkpoints serve as your lifelines, allowing you to restart and experiment with new tactics if you falter.
The game innovatively splits your phone's screen into two sections: one for jumping and the other for shooting, where timing is key. To aid precision, the game includes a slow-motion feature when aiming your shots, giving you just the right amount of time to line up your targets.
