The highly anticipated Season 8: Sandlord for Torchlight: Infinite is set to launch on April 17th, bringing a plethora of new features and content to the action RPG. This season introduces the innovative Cloud Oasis, a new gameplay area where players can engage in economic strategies, trading resources, managing workforce, and overseeing production to build their aerial empire.
A notable addition is the revamped character, Thea, who returns with a new trait called Blasphemer. This trait replaces her traditional divine powers with the curse of Desecration, which, though starting weak, scales powerfully. It enhances Erosion damage inversely proportional to her remaining blessing power, allowing for diverse build possibilities that favor area of effect (AoE) explosions and health-based scaling effects, perfect for enthusiasts of damage-over-time and synergistic gameplay.
Endgame content receives a significant overhaul with the complete rework of Deep Space, featuring five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can now use the new Probes system to adjust the level of risk and potential rewards, including the chance to obtain Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling players to combine Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into one item slot, enhancing build diversity. A new formidable boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, joins the fray, appearing in Plane Watcher and on the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
Coinciding with the season launch is the Sands of Fortune anniversary event, running from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in various tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and vie for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
