A high-quality implementation of the classic card game Durak (also known as Fool)
The card game "Durak" (also called "Fool" or "Dumb") is likely one of the most popular and widely played card games across the former Soviet Union. In this version, you can enjoy "Durak" offline without an internet connection, using a deck of 24, 36, or 52 cards.
Durak comes in two main variations: "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy) and "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy). While the core rules share similarities, each variant has its own specific nuances.
The objective of the game is to be the first to get rid of all your cards. The last player left with cards becomes the "fool" (durak).
Flip Fool (Durak Podkidnoy)
is the classic version of the game. In this mode, if the attacker cannot add more cards, the player to the defender's left may throw one card. Once that card is beaten, the turn to throw cards returns to the original attacker. If the player to the left has nothing to throw, the chance passes clockwise to the next player. This means all players can potentially throw cards, but only in turn—hence the name "Flip Fool" or simply "classic durak".
Transferable Fool (Durak Perevodnoy)
adds an exciting twist to the rules. Starting from the second attack, the defending player may "transfer" an attacking card by playing a card of the same rank from a different suit. This shifts the defense to the next player clockwise, who can also transfer if possible. This dynamic is what gives "Transferable Fool" its name.
Game features include:
- Fully offline play; no internet required.
- Attractive, polished graphics with a wide selection of tables, card designs, and backs, including satin-finished cards.
- Multiple card sorting options.
- Card highlighting (can be disabled).
- Choice of deck size: 24, 36, or 52 cards.
- Classic rules for both Flip Fool and Transferable Fool.
- A "Basic" mode for players who prefer one-on-one games against the player to their left, with no additional attackers.
- A maximum of 5 cards can be thrown on the first attack.
- In Transferable Fool, the first attack cannot be transferred.
- In Transferable Fool, if you hold a trump card of the same rank as an attacking card and wish to cover it instead of transferring, drag your card on top of the one you want to beat.
