Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your adventure kicks off in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by shedding any excess loot and arming yourself. My top pick? A Rifle—it's only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to keep your boat's old-school engine running.
The next town is a hefty 10,000m away. Simply fire up your boat and you're on your way. You might be tempted to stop and tackle Zombies and Drowned, but the houses on the sides don't hold much value. To keep moving, just toss more coal in and restart the engine. Ignore the worm on the right side for now. Wait until the second safe zone to offload your loot, but stay vigilant for Big Foot and Zombie mobs flanking the river.
After the second safe zone, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're with friends, clear them out; otherwise, it's a time sink due to unpredictable spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house packed with Drowned but also brimming with Shotgun ammo and valuable loot. Use it wisely.
Dead Sails Kraken Tips and Tricks
By now, you're familiar with the core loop—kill, loot, repeat and hope the enemy falls. To master the game, focus on efficiency by using the boat as your primary inventory. Empty your bag upon returning to save both time and space.
A key strategy I discovered while crafting this Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to flee those backwater towns, efficient loot stacking can make a significant difference. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.
Another tip: be cautious in Sheriff's offices. These spots often host a high concentration of mobs, but they're also treasure troves for weapons and ammo. I kept my shotgun stocked for a long time by having a teammate clear the ground floor while we explored each town.
Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a hotspot for ambushes. I recommend bringing at least three friends, with five being ideal. Be strategic when collecting loot here.
Avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m—they're tough, hit hard, and drain your ammo. Keep your stops short and focused. Remember, loot isn't everything.
The town past 50,000m is one of my favorite spots for farming. With at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, it's perfect for those wielding Shotguns or Sawnoffs. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prep bodies for loading quickly.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails Kraken
Before facing the Kraken, sell everything you have in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on Zombies and Drowned; ensure you have a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final stretch. As you approach 100k, you'll hit open waters and be ready to confront the beast. The sign of its arrival? The skies will darken.
The camera will zoom out, revealing the Kraken emerging from the water. Immediately, EVERYONE MUST PICK a tentacle to target. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can attack if not repelled. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and each focus on a tentacle.
Watch out for the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage and is signaled by the Kraken winding back its tentacle, leaving a water trail. Use medkits liberally here, as some damage is unavoidable.
Lastly, be mindful of the Roar AoE, which causes minor, unblockable damage and may slightly boost the boss's damage. You'll spot it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle.
See, it's not as daunting as it seems. That's the essence of my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. If you want to conquer the boss even faster, grab one of our Dead Sails codes to see how far and how fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
