The Kinetic Blade, a fan-favorite weapon from Chapter 4 Season 2, returns to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 6 Season 1, also known as Fortnite Hunters. This isn't the only Katana available; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the newly introduced Typhoon Blade.
This guide outlines how to find and effectively use the Kinetic Blade, helping you decide if it's a superior choice to the Typhoon Blade.
Locating the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. It can be found as floor loot or within standard and Rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's drop rate appears relatively low. The absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) further complicates its acquisition.
Utilizing the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon enabling swift movement and surprise attacks.
Unlike the Typhoon Blade, which requires sprinting for increased speed, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack for rapid forward lunges. This attack inflicts 60 damage upon impact. It can be used three times consecutively before needing to recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks back opponents. This can result in additional fall damage and potentially eliminate unsuspecting players.
