Feeling frustrated with your Avowed character build? It happens! Sometimes that initial class choice or attribute allocation just doesn't pan out as planned. Luckily, Avowed offers respec options, allowing you to rebuild your character and try a different playstyle. This guide will walk you through respeccing your abilities, attributes, and even your companion.
How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Should)
Choosing the right build at the start of a game is tough. Respeccing lets you correct mistakes and adapt your character to your preferred playstyle. Perhaps you started as a pure wizard but found yourself constantly overwhelmed in combat – a respec might be the perfect solution to transition into a more balanced spellsword. Later in the game, respeccing can help optimize your build for maximum effectiveness.
Respeccing Your Abilities
To respec your abilities, open the in-game menu and navigate to the “Abilities” section. At the bottom, you'll find a “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing with game progression. Click the button, confirm your choice, and pay the cost. This resets all your ability points across all skill trees except "Godlike" abilities, which are acquired through in-game choices.
Respeccing Your Attributes
Happy with your abilities but not your attributes? Or perhaps you want a complete overhaul? Open the menu, go to the “Character” section, and locate the button beneath your attribute list. Similar to abilities, there’s a cost (starting at 100 Copper Skeyt) that increases over time. Click, pay, and reclaim your attribute points.
Respeccing Your Companion
Want to adjust your companion's build? Navigate to the “Abilities” section, then the “Companions” tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see a button to respec. Pay the indicated cost of Copper Skeyt to reset their points. Remember: you'll need to respec each companion individually.
That's it! You've successfully learned how to respec in Avowed.
