Bethesda's acclaimed voice actor, Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, was discovered critically ill in his hotel room last week. His family is seeking public support.
As reported by PC Gamer, Johnson's wife, Kim, and family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover substantial medical expenses and living costs during his incapacitation. The campaign states that Johnson is currently fighting for his life in intensive care.
The situation escalated when Johnson, scheduled to host a benefit for the National Alzheimer's Foundation in Atlanta on January 22nd, failed to appear. His wife's attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, leading hotel security to discover him unconscious and near death.
The GoFundMe campaign, initially aiming for $50,000, has already surpassed its goal nearly threefold, amassing over $144,791 from approximately 2,200 donors. Beyond his extensive video game repertoire, Johnson is also a long-standing public address announcer for the Washington Capitals and boasts a diverse career in film and television.
His prominent video game roles primarily feature in Bethesda's catalog, including his recent portrayal of Ron Hope in Starfield. Other notable performances include Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
