Insomniac Games recently shared their future plans, but remained tight-lipped about Marvel's Wolverine. This highly anticipated title continues to generate significant buzz, yet details remain scarce.
Insomniac Co-Head on the Future
Marvel's Wolverine: A Tightly Held Secret

Insomniac, while boasting a "really ambitious roadmap," is keeping mum on Marvel's Wolverine's development in a recent interview with Variety. Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized their focus on existing projects, avoiding any confirmation or denial of a 2025 release date. The excitement is palpable, but for now, secrecy reigns supreme. "As much as we have pent-up excitement, we've got to hold on to it," Dezern stated.
Wolverine's 2021 Debut
Initially unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a cinematic teaser, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. The game's connection to the Marvel's Spider-Man universe was confirmed by Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar in a 2023 interview with Kinda Funny. He revealed that both games exist within the same universe ("they're all in 1048"). While fans anticipated crossovers, the only confirmed connection so far is a Wolverine-themed suit ("The Best There Is") for Miles Morales in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. A December 2023 ransomware attack briefly exposed some Wolverine development assets to the public.
Insomniac's Current Projects

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac has confirmed no further DLC for this title, but the PC version will include all post-release updates, including new suits and New Game+. Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available.
