Murderous Mishaps: Serial Cleaner's Mustachioed Cleanup Duty

Author : Isaac Dec 30,2024

Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning to mobile platforms. But will this be a simple port or a fully revamped experience? Let's investigate.

The game throws you into the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, and maybe even a few cinematic exaggerations (killer sharks, anyone?). You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner tasked with the messy job of disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and erasing all evidence of mob violence – all while avoiding the watchful eyes of the police.

Our previous 2019 review described Serial Cleaner as "half-baked but with potential." This re-release, self-published by developer Plug-In Digital, offers a chance to address those earlier shortcomings. However, given the time elapsed, significant improvements might be optimistic.

A Fresh Coat of Paint?

Available for pre-registration now, with a February 11th, 2025 release date, the extent of the improvements remains unclear. While a polished re-release would be welcome, a simple mobile port is also a possibility. This news will be particularly exciting for Android and iOS users who previously missed out or experienced compatibility issues.

The core concept remains undeniably appealing. However, a straightforward mobile port might dampen enthusiasm for those who played the original. If you're looking for something new, check out our weekly list of top five mobile games!
