Neko Atsume, the beloved cat-collecting game, has a sequel! Neko Atsume 2 brings back the simple joy of attracting adorable neighborhood cats to your yard with enticing goodies, but with a few exciting new features. The cats are even cuter—yes, *cuter*—and fluffier than ever before.
If you enjoyed the original, you'll feel right at home. The core gameplay remains the same: place snacks and toys, wait for the cats to arrive, and admire their fluffy charm. However, Neko Atsume 2 adds a delightful social element and some helpful new additions.
What's New in Neko Atsume 2?
One of the biggest additions is the ability to connect with friends! Exchange player codes to visit each other's yards, discover new cats, and share the joy of cat collecting. You'll also find helpful cats, known as Helpers, who assist with yard management. And there's the mysterious Myneko, a customizable special cat, adding a personal touch to your collection.
The Cat's Club is a subscription service offering extra perks, including a free one-month trial. Subscribers can have up to three Mynekos and unlock Aida, the helpful Helper Cat. The game also replaces the daily password feature from the original with a newspaper that provides 10 silver fish.
How to Play Neko Atsume 2
The gameplay is familiar and relaxing. Place a variety of snacks and toys in your yard, then step back and watch the adorable parade of cats begin! From classic tabbies and calicos to rare and unique breeds, over 40 different cats can visit your yard. Experiment with different combinations of goodies to attract the most elusive feline friends. Keep track of your visitors in your Catbook.
While there are fewer toys and decorations initially compared to the first game, more are promised in future updates. For now, you can create charming scenes using items like Tissue Boxes, Eco Bags, Baseball Balls, Gold Fish Statues, Cowboy Hats, and Temari Balls.
