Sony India's Lokko: New Mobile, PC, PS5 Game

Author : Elijah Mar 14,2025

Lokko, a vibrant new 3D platformer from Indian developer Appy Monkeys, is poised to make waves in the gaming world. Developed in collaboration with Sony's India Hero Project, Lokko boasts cross-play functionality across mobile, PC, and PS5, complete with DualShock controller support on all platforms.

India's burgeoning game development scene is often overlooked, but Lokko, alongside titles like Indus Battle Royale, hints at a bright future. This exciting project, born from the Sony India Hero Project incubator, combines engaging gameplay with robust creative tools. Players deliver pizzas while battling the nefarious Goobol food corporation, all within a customizable world featuring an in-depth avatar creator and level editor.

What truly sets Lokko apart is its seamless cross-platform experience. Cross-play compatibility and consistent DualShock support across all platforms ensure a unified and accessible gaming experience.

Lokko cleverly blends familiar elements from successful games, offering character customization, level creation, and a charming low-poly aesthetic reminiscent of Roblox. However, backed by the power of PlayStation, it has the potential to become a compelling alternative to established platforms.

While the gameplay might not reinvent the wheel, Appy Monkeys' vision is promising. Lokko’s accessibility and creative features offer a refreshing take on the 3D platformer genre. The India Hero Project continues to demonstrate its potential for nurturing innovative game development.

Although a precise release date for Lokko is yet to be announced (though it's expected sometime this year), fans of cross-platform indie titles might want to check out another recent release: the captivating eldritch fishing simulator Dredge from Black Salt Games.
