Unveiled: Yakuza Merch Madness for Devoted Fans

Author : Caleb Feb 25,2025

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans vote on the next official merchandise items! A whopping 100 options are available, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but submissions can be made on the official website.

The choices range from the expected (like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or pencil case) to the utterly bizarre, drawing heavily on the series' famously outlandish history.

Among the more unusual contenders are Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, Majima's oversized traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other items up for grabs include Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.

2025 will see at least one new entry in the series, with Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean (presumably a typo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, given the context) launching on February 21st. While a second release this year hasn't been confirmed, it's not outside the realm of possibility, given RGG Studio's prolific output. In the past five years alone, they've released Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, plus two Super Monkey Ball games and a Virtua Fighter 5 remaster—a total of nine games.
