"Stellar Blade Sequel Confirmed by Developer"

Author : Victoria May 21,2025

Exciting news for fans of the action-packed game Stellar Blade: Developer Shift Up has officially announced that a full sequel is in the works. Originally launched in April 2024 and published by PlayStation, Stellar Blade received widespread acclaim for its engaging gameplay, which skillfully blends elements from NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The confirmation came through a chart detailing Shift Up's future projects as part of their latest financial results. The chart not only lists the upcoming Stellar Blade sequel but also mentions a "platform expansion" expected before the sequel's release. This expansion is likely referring to the game's PC version, slated for release on June 11, 2025.

Shift Up's ambitious roadmap extends until before 2027, during which they plan to launch another intriguing title, Project Witches. This new multiplatform action RPG is still shrouded in mystery but promises to add to Shift Up's growing portfolio of engaging games.

As revealed in a presentation slide, Shift Up is looking forward to expanding its franchises significantly, with the Stellar Blade sequel leading the charge. This slide underscores the company's strategic vision for the next few years.

In IGN's review of Stellar Blade, the game was praised for its "gorgeous and well-crafted action" and its "Sekiro-inspired combat system." However, the review also pointed out some shortcomings, noting that "both its story and characters lack substance, and some of its RPG elements are poorly implemented." Despite these flaws, the game's action and exploration elements were highlighted as strong points that compensate for its narrative weaknesses.
