"Monster Hunter Wilds Surpasses 10 Million Sales, Capcom Reveals Success Secrets"

Author : Peyton May 06,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds continues its meteoric rise, surpassing the 10 million sales mark and setting a new first-month sales record for Capcom. This achievement eclipses all previous records set by the developer and publisher, with Wilds outpacing the sales of its predecessor, Monster Hunter World, in a remarkable fashion.

Within just three days of its release, Wilds had already sold 8 million copies, making it the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history. In a statement to the press, Capcom attributed the game's success to several key factors. The introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, along with a simultaneous launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, played significant roles in its widespread appeal. Unlike Monster Hunter World, which saw a delayed PC release, Wilds was available to all platforms from day one.

Capcom further highlighted the impact of the new Focus Mode mechanic and seamless transitions between settlements and ecosystems, which enhance the immersive experience of the game. The blend of innovative features with the core Monster Hunter appeal has evidently struck a chord with gamers, leading to the unprecedented first-month sales of over 10 million units.

Looking ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive continuous updates, starting with Title Update 1 on April 4. This update will introduce a fan-favorite monster and the Grand Hub, a new in-game settlement for player interaction. Title Update 2, slated for the summer, will feature the return of Lagiacrus. Monster Hunter Wilds Weapons Tier List

The Monster Hunter series made a significant impact in the West with the 2018 release of Monster Hunter World, which remains Capcom's best-selling game to date with 21.3 million copies sold. Given its current trajectory, it's highly probable that Monster Hunter Wilds will eventually surpass these numbers.
