Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change
Treyarch has responded to player feedback by reverting a recent change to the Zombies Directed Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The January 3rd update introduced alterations to the Citadelle des Morts map's Directed Mode, extending the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This proved unpopular, hindering kill farming and camo challenges.
The January 9th update addresses this directly, restoring the zombie spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. This reversal follows community concerns and acknowledges the previous change negatively impacted gameplay. The update also includes various bug fixes for Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts, resolving issues with quest progression and glitches related to stamps. Additionally, visual glitches and crashes associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have been resolved.
Further improvements involve substantial buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment) have all been increased, and the cooldown has been reduced by 25%.
The patch notes also highlight global fixes addressing visual issues in the Events tab and audio problems with in-game milestone banners. Multiplayer received stability improvements and increased XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light. This mode also sees the addition of Liberty Falls to the map selection and an increased round cap to 20.
Treyarch anticipates further bug fixes and adjustments in the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update scheduled for January 28th. Until then, players can still complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest to earn rewards before Season 1 Reloaded concludes. The team emphasizes their commitment to creating a fun and rewarding Zombies experience, learning from past adjustments to ensure future updates better meet player expectations.
