"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

Author : Julian May 17,2025

The wait for Days Gone Remastered is almost over, and Sony's Bend Studio has just shared exciting details about the accessibility features that will enhance the gaming experience. One of the standout features is the ability to slow down Game Speed during intense moments. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, elaborated on this and other accessibility options coming to the remastered version of the game.

The Game Speed feature allows players to adjust the gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This adjustment is designed to assist players who might find themselves overwhelmed during high-pressure scenarios, such as battling hordes of Freakers. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. With the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this feature aims to make the intense combat experience more accessible.

In addition to Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will include a variety of other accessibility options. Players can customize subtitle colors, use a High Contrast Mode, benefit from UI Narration, and receive Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE (Quick Time Event) feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will also be available for Days Gone on PC, though some features like feedback and customization control options will require a compatible controller.

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered promises not only these accessibility enhancements but also additional features such as an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, this remaster of the 2019 biker-centric action-adventure game is eagerly anticipated.

Days Gone Remastered is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
