Deadlock's Latest Update: Six Experimental Heroes Join the Fray

New Heroes, Name Changes, and Skill Sharing

Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently ranked among Steam's most wishlisted games since its mid-2024 launch. The recent "10-24-2024" update is a major milestone, introducing six new playable heroes, currently exclusive to the Hero Sandbox mode. These heroes—Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in-game), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are not yet available in standard PvP matches. While their full kits are implemented, some skills are temporary placeholders, using existing skills from other heroes (for example, Magician's ultimate is currently a copy of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap).

The table below offers a preview of each hero's current role and gameplay style:

Hero Description
Calico A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero, excelling at unseen attacks and evasive maneuvers.
Fathom A short-range burst assassin, specializing in aggressive dives and swift eliminations of key targets.
Holliday A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin, utilizing precise headshots and explosives to decimate enemies from afar.
Magician A tactical, long-range DPS capable of manipulating projectiles, teleporting, and swapping positions with allies and enemies.
Viper A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts poison damage over time and can petrify groups of enemies.
Wrecker A mid-to-close-range brawler who uses troopers and NPCs as both weapons and projectiles in their attacks.
