For much of the 21st century, Final Fantasy games were PlayStation exclusives. However, a nearly 40-year history and the desire to reach new audiences (not to mention boost profits) has pushed publishers toward multi-platform releases. Beyond PC ports, Square Enix has also brought numerous remasters and special editions to Nintendo's handheld consoles.
This isn't entirely new territory. The Final Fantasy series' origins are deeply intertwined with Nintendo, with the first six mainline entries debuting on Nintendo platforms before Square Enix shifted its focus to PlayStation with Final Fantasy VII.
With Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth's PC launch and a significant Magic: The Gathering expansion bringing Final Fantasy back into the spotlight in 2025, many are eager to explore the series. Below is a complete list of Final Fantasy games available on the Nintendo Switch for newcomers and veterans alike.
