CES 2025 delivered some major mobile gaming news, with one of the biggest announcements being the AI-powered "Co-Playable Character" (CPC) from Krafton, unveiled on January 8th. This isn't your average NPC; it's a Non-Playable Character infused with generative AI, coming soon to both PUBG and inZOI.
inZOI's implementation, dubbed "Smart Zoi," promises emotionally deep and uniquely personable AI companions within its simulation. This will significantly enhance the realism of interactions within the game.
In PUBG, the "PUBG Ally" will dynamically adapt its strategies to complement your gameplay, creating exciting (or perhaps slightly unsettling) new player dynamics.
Developed in partnership with NVIDIA ACE, CPCs will facilitate real-time conversations and scenarios that adapt to the current game state. *“Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible,"* says Kangwook Lee, Head of the Deep Learning Division at Krafton.
