Minecraft Live 2025 has concluded, with developer Mojang unveiling a substantial array of new upgrades and content for the best-selling video game of all time.
Mojang announced the year's first game drop, titled Spring to Life. This update brings various enhancements to the Overworld designed to make biomes "feel more immersive and alive," including new variants of cows, pigs, and chickens, along with ambient features like the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and whispers of sand. Spring to Life launches on March 25.
The year's second game drop is yet to be named, but its contents are known. It introduces the Dried Ghast block, which can be rehydrated to create a new mob variant called a Ghastling (essentially a baby ghast). This Ghastling can mature into a Happy Ghast. Using a Ghast harness, players can fly the Happy Ghast, which can carry up to four players.
Today's major announcement was a significant visual upgrade called 'Vibrant Visuals.' Mojang described it as "the first step in expressing our developers’ vision for a visual upgrade that will transform the way our players experience Minecraft." Vibrant Visuals does not alter gameplay mechanics.

Additionally, Mojang shared a new clip for the upcoming A Minecraft Movie and announced an in-game, movie-themed live event starting March 25.
From our visit to Mojang's Swedish offices, we have further insights, including the reasons behind the developer's decision not to create Minecraft 2, not to make the game free-to-play, and not to utilize generative AI in its development.
