NieR: Automata offers a diverse weapon arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one stands out for fans of Square Enix titles: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats.

Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade isn't accessible early in the game. You'll need to progress to the Factory area as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a shortcut. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right. You'll encounter a fenced area, then climb broken stairs onto a conveyor belt with boxes. Navigate the next belt carefully, avoiding the crushing presses. Jump to the cylinder beyond, where spider-like enemies await.

Take the left door, ascending stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, with an extending platform. Move forward to shift the camera angle, initiating a 2D platforming section. Jump across the presses, moving left. The final room contains three chests. The Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest; a locked chest is on the right.

Beware of more exploding enemies descending from the ceiling as you approach the chest.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon boasts four upgrade levels, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it features a tighter damage range, offering greater damage predictability.
