While exciting news for fans of both brands, the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked a flurry of speculation regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Many joked that the LEGO Game Boy is Nintendo's way of announcing their next console.

Although details about the Switch 2 remain scarce, President Furukawa confirmed in May 2024 that an announcement is planned within the current fiscal year (ending March). Patience is key, as the official reveal is still pending.

Pricing for the LEGO Game Boy hasn't been revealed yet, but further information is promised in the coming weeks or months.
