The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This follows the earlier tease in the Dual Destiny Season loading screen.
This event offers a multitude of activities:
- New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight will appear for the first time.
- Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research will be available, offering unique rewards.
- Field Research Tasks: Complete these tasks for additional rewards.
- Shiny Pokémon Encounters: Increased chances to encounter shiny versions of several Pokémon.
- Bonuses: Charged TMs will allow Shadow Pokémon to unlearn Frustration. Magnetic Lure Modules will attract specific Pokémon, including Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee. Increased spawn rates for various Pokémon, including Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, and Carbink.
The event also features boosted spawns of several Pokémon (Clefairy, Machop, Totodile, Marill, Hoppip, Paldean Wooper, Shieldon, Bunnelby, Carbink, and Mareanie – some with shiny possibilities), various raid encounters (including Deoxys, Dialga, Mega Gallade, and Mega Medicham), and 2km Eggs containing Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (shiny possibilities).
Specific Pokémon evolving during the event will learn unique attacks: Machamp (Karate Chop), Feraligatr (Hydro Cannon), Quagsire (Aqua Tail), Lickilicky (Body Slam), Corviknight (Iron Head), and Clodsire (Megahorn).
Concurrent with the Steely Resolve event is GO Battle Week: Dual Destiny (January 21st-26th), offering 4x Stardust from win rewards, increased daily battle sets (up to 20), free battle-themed Timed Research, and varied stats for Pokémon encountered in GO Battle League rewards. Various GO Battle League rotations will also be active.
Beyond the Corviknight debut, January also sees the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in Shadow Raids, the introduction of Dynamax raids featuring the Kanto Legendary Birds (January 20th-February 3rd), and the return of the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic. This makes for a packed start to the year for Pokémon GO players.
