Resident Evil's Mikami and Killer7's Suda51 Hint at a Possible Sequel and Remaster
During a recent Grasshopper Direct presentation focused on the upcoming Shadows of the Damned remaster, Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil creator) and Goichi "Suda51" Suda (Killer7 creator) fueled speculation about the future of the cult classic Killer7.
The discussion, captured in a video https://www.youtube.com/embed/aAQE3GIjdu4, touched upon the possibility of both a sequel and a complete edition of the game.
Mikami openly expressed his desire for Suda51 to create a Killer7 sequel, citing it as a personal favorite. Suda51, in response, hinted at the potential, playfully suggesting titles like "Killer11" or "Killer7: Beyond."
Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure game known for its blend of horror, mystery, and over-the-top violence, follows Harman Smith and his seven distinct personalities. While a sequel has yet to materialize, Suda51 proposed a "Complete Edition" to expand on the original vision, particularly by including extensive cut dialogue for the character Coyote. Mikami, while playfully dismissing the Complete Edition as "lame," later acknowledged its potential appeal to fans.
The exchange generated significant excitement among fans. Although no firm commitments were made, the developers' enthusiasm suggests a future for Killer7, leaving the question of whether a "Killer7: Beyond" or a Complete Edition will arrive first.
