Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!
EA and Maxis are commemorating The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic surprise: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, individually or bundled together for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
These releases include nearly all expansions and stuff packs for both games. The Sims 2: Legacy Collection notably omits the 2008 IKEA Home Stuff pack, but otherwise offers complete content. Bonus content sweetens the deal, with The Sims 1 receiving a Throwback Fit Kit and The Sims 2 a Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks the first time in over a decade that both games have been easily accessible. The Sims 1, originally only available on disc, was previously unavailable digitally. The Sims 2's Ultimate Collection, available on Origin in 2014, was later removed. These new collections make all four main Sims games readily available digitally.
Our original reviews awarded The Sims 1 a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10. While the series has evolved, the originals retain charm with their unique gameplay, simplicity, challenge, and historical significance.
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
