Dive into the exciting world of *Build Defense*, a *Roblox* game where you're tasked with constructing a base using blocks to survive various threats like monster attacks, tornados, bombs, and aliens. At first glance, it might remind you of *Minecraft* with a twist, but it's actually closer to the original *Fortnite*—a nostalgic nod for those who remember its early days.
Regardless of its inspirations, *Build Defense* offers a thrilling experience, but mastering it takes some know-how. That's where our Beginner's Guide comes in, designed to steer you through the game's challenges and enhance your enjoyment.
Build Defense Beginner's Guide
Below, we've compiled key strategies we wish we knew when we first started playing. Implementing these tips not only boosts your fun factor but also accelerates your progress.
The object of the game is to survive...
When you're thrown into your world and onto your plot, it's easy to think the goal is to keep that plot safe. Not quite! The real objective is to survive—in other words, don't die. The game will hurl all sorts of dangers at you, and your mission is to endure them. Ideally, you'll want to hunker down at your plot, building a robust defensive structure. But if things get too hairy, you can always run around the world until the danger subsides—a tactic that's surprisingly effective. Each time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency. Accumulating Wins is your ticket to progressing in the game. So, keep an eye on screen messages and focus on staying alive.
...dying is completely normal
Don't sweat it if you die. It's part of the game, and it will happen frequently. The consequences are minimal—you'll respawn immediately, lose your items, and fail the current wave, but that's about it. You can buy back your weapons and items, and your structures remain intact against monsters and disasters. New attack waves come every two minutes, giving you plenty of chances to redeem yourself. Essentially, all you're really losing is a bit of time.
Build high, not low
We initially thought that a wall around our plot would suffice for defense, but that left us vulnerable at entry points. A more effective strategy is to construct a set of stairs reaching high into the sky and build a platform at the top. When night falls, ascend and wait it out. Monsters attempting to climb will likely fall, and those who reach the top can be met with a barrage of turrets. This setup is nearly foolproof and will carry you through most nights.
Don't just build, explore!
There's much more to the island than just your plot. You can visit neighbors (other players), sell your ores, and even embark on quests. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the Gingerbread's House quest, are available right away. Completing these quests can unlock a variety of new building parts, enhancing your gameplay experience.
The "Shop" isn't just for premium items
As you advance, don't overlook the Shop. You can purchase most items with in-game currency, but you'll need to rack up some Wins first. Before diving into the Shop, play the game a bit. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group, and like, favorite, and follow the game to snag a free gift.
When you're ready, move to the next area
Once you've accumulated 190 Wins, you can transition to the next area and restart the cycle. Expect new disasters, new Quests, and fresh building opportunities.
That's the gist of it! Enjoy surviving and building in *Build Defense*. Don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some cool in-game freebies.
