Pokémon Company Tackles TCG Shortages, Scalpers Post-Destined Rivals Launch

Author : Hazel May 02,2025

The Pokémon Company has taken a significant step to address the ongoing frustrations faced by fans in acquiring recent Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) sets. In a recent statement, the company acknowledged the issues and confirmed plans for reprints to ensure that products reach fans more effectively.

The launch of the latest set, *Destined Rivals*, was marred by product shortages, pre-order complications, and the interference of scalpers. This set, along with others like *Prismatic Evolutions* and the *Blooming Waters* box, have been highly sought after, making them challenging to obtain.

In their official statement on the Pokémon website, The Pokémon Company expressed awareness of the difficulties fans face in purchasing certain TCG products due to high demand. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity," the company stated. They assured fans that reprints would be available at participating retailers soon.

Furthermore, The Pokémon Company is committed to improving future TCG product launches by maximizing production to increase availability from the outset. They also plan to continue reprinting affected products to replenish stock, including at the Pokémon Center.

Addressing the issue of scalping indirectly, the company emphasized their dedication to providing a seamless purchasing experience at the Pokémon Center. They employ technology like virtual queues during high traffic periods to prioritize fans. "We will continue to explore measures that help create the best possible experience for Pokémon Center customers," they added, thanking the community for their patience and support as efforts are made to deliver more Pokémon TCG products to fans.

With these assurances from The Pokémon Company, fans can hope for a smoother and less stressful experience when new Pokémon TCG sets are released in the future.
