News
Partner/Indie World Showcase Delivers a Bounty of Games
Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved effective, resulting in a flurry of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. I highly recommend watching the full video for a complete overview.
New Releases Spotlight
Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)
A third Castlevania collection joins the fray, courtesy of a surprise release. This compilation features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notoriously poor arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. The collection offers exceptional emulation and features, making it an incredible value.
Pizza Tower ($19.99)
This Wario Land-inspired platformer sprints onto the Switch, another surprise release. Players must navigate five challenging floors of the Pizza Tower to save their restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will find this a must-have, but even those without a strong Wario preference should consider it if they enjoy fast-paced platformers. A review is pending.
Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)
The surprise releases continue! Goat Simulator 3 delivers the chaotic gameplay fans expect. While performance on the Switch remains to be seen (given challenges on more powerful consoles), the inherently absurd nature of the game might even complement any potential performance issues. Expect silly goats and potentially Switch-melting mayhem.
Peglin ($19.99)
Electronic Arts' absence from the Switch market is a missed opportunity, especially considering the potential for PopCap titles. For Peggle enthusiasts, Peglin is a fantastic alternative. This mobile hit seamlessly transitions to the Switch, blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. A review is forthcoming.
Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)
Kairosoft injects fresh energy into its simulation formula by incorporating the beloved Doraemon franchise. This shop simulation features familiar characters and even includes cameos from the manga artist's other works. A charming addition to the genre.
Pico Park 2 ($8.99)
More Pico Park for existing fans! Supporting up to eight players via local or online multiplayer, this cooperative puzzle game emphasizes teamwork and strategic thinking. While not drastically different from its predecessor, it's a welcome addition for those who enjoyed the original.
Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)
An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio's music. Simple yet enjoyable, offering a good value for its price.
SokoPenguin ($4.99)
A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels await those who enjoy this type of challenge.
Q2 Humanity ($6.80)
Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilizing character abilities and drawing mechanics adds a unique layer of gameplay. Up to four players can join in locally or online.
