Xbox Unveils Avowed

A towering statue of a decayed knight, his armor corroded and adorned with eerie, real-life mushrooms, has emerged in London—a haunting testament to the Dreamscourge disease plaguing the world of Avowed. This installation, masterfully crafted by Xbox, serves as both an artistic statement and a stark warning, enveloping passersby in the grim atmosphere of the game’s narrative. Accompanying the statue, posters promoting Avowed on Xbox Series X|S transform an ordinary street into a gateway to the game's immersive universe.

To offer fans an insider's view of this chilling installation, Xbox has released an official video on YouTube, detailing the creative process behind this innovative promotional piece.

Meanwhile, Avowed has garnered significant acclaim from Steam users—81% of Deluxe Edition players recommended it prior to the launch, building anticipation as the Standard Edition hits the market today.

Gaming industry stalwart Jason Schreier has voiced his enthusiasm for Avowed, highlighting its compelling world design, storytelling, and combat mechanics, but above all, its exploration:

"Avowed has me hooked. Obsidian’s storytelling and combat were expectedly strong, but it’s the world’s design that stands out. Every pathway leads somewhere, every rooftop is accessible, and there’s always a hidden detail waiting to be found. Even after 40 hours, I keep coming back."

Schreier also pointed out a divide between critics and players, drawing parallels to Fallout: New Vegas:

"Some of the reviews surprise me. It’s the same situation as Fallout: New Vegas—critics were split, but players turned it into a legend. Avowed could follow a similar trajectory."

While Fallout: New Vegas initially received a Metacritic score of 83, it eventually ascended to the status of an RPG classic. Could Avowed be treading a similar path to RPG greatness?
