At Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls, a troubling incident has occurred: a school prefect has been pushed out of a window, and you are the prime suspect. In Expelled!, the latest mystery game from inkle, the acclaimed creators of Overboard!, you have just one day to clear your name or find someone else to blame.

Set in April 1922, Expelled! centers around Verity Amersham, a scholarship student at an elite boarding school. Voiced by Amelia Tyler, known for her role in Baldur's Gate 3, Verity has always tried to steer clear of trouble. However, when accused of attempted murder, she must navigate a complex web to prove her innocence.

This game transcends simple dialogue choices; every action you take, from where you go to whom you speak and what you say, intricately influences the unfolding narrative. NPCs roam the school in real-time, reacting to your actions and conversations. Some may offer assistance, while others might work against you. The question remains: who can you trust?

Expelled! Game CoverYou can choose to solve the mystery through investigation, but there's also the option to lie, mislead, or manipulate to ensure your safety. Need an alibi? Convince someone to cover for you. Desperate? Pin the blame on someone else. The more you bend the rules, the more paths open up for you.

Each playthrough of Expelled! lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, but no two experiences are the same. Your decisions lead to new clues, different outcomes, and uncover hidden secrets scattered throughout the school. Investigate why the cellar is locked or what your best friend is hiding. If you manage to avoid expulsion, you might even climb to the prestigious rank of Head Girl.

While you await the release, explore this curated list of the best narrative games to play on mobile to keep the intrigue alive!

Immerse yourself in the atmospheric soundtrack featuring jazz legends such as George Gershwin, Louis Armstrong, and Bessie Smith, as Expelled! intertwines a gripping mystery with a dynamic, ever-evolving story. The way you clear your name—or the lengths you go to achieve it—is entirely in your hands.

Expelled! is set to launch on March 12th, available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and iOS platforms.
