"Duck Bucket" REPO Added in First Update to Combat Dreaded Duck

Author : Camila May 21,2025

REPO, the thrilling online co-op horror game developed by Semiwork Studios, is set to enhance player experience with its first major update. This update introduces a novel feature called the "duck bucket," designed to neutralize the game's notorious adversary, The Apex Predator—a small yellow duck that can morph into a terrifying monster when disturbed. This new tool will allow players to safely contain the duck, preventing it from turning into its monstrous form and attacking players. Alongside this, the update will include new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements to enrich the gameplay experience.

In addition to the duck bucket, players can look forward to exploring a new map dubbed "The Museum." This level is crafted to challenge players' parkour skills, featuring extraction points with visible borders to help players determine whether their loot is within the extraction zone. Semiwork Studios is also addressing community feedback by working on public lobbies, which will include options for hosting both public and private games, complete with a kick button for better lobby management. Although the developers have acknowledged the complexity of implementing these features, they are committed to delivering a robust gaming experience.

Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular game Lethal Company due to shared mechanics and themes. Zeekers, the creator of Lethal Company, provided constructive feedback on REPO via a Twitter (X) post on March 15. He praised the game's fun factor and highlighted specific areas for improvement, such as increasing the voice chat range and reducing the muffling effect. Zeekers also noted that REPO excels in cramped settings like mansions, suggesting that vast open spaces might not align well with the game's design. He further emphasized the need for in-game tutorials to help players understand enemy behaviors, expressing confidence in the developers' plans to address this.

Currently, REPO is making waves on Steam, ranking as the second best-selling game behind Counter-Strike 2, with over 230,645 concurrent players—a number that closely rivals Lethal Company's peak concurrent player count.
