InZOI Ditches Explicit Sex Scenes

The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently addressed fan inquiries, particularly around the sensitive topic of sexual intercourse within the game. When queried, the assistant director provided a notably vague response, carefully avoiding direct mention of "sex." The essence of the answer suggested that while male and female ZOIs might retreat to bed together with the apparent intention of procreation, the visual depiction of these interactions would be left largely to the player's imagination.

Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This leaves fans uncertain about whether inZOI will adopt a censorship approach similar to that of The Sims series or if it will introduce a novel method of handling such content.

Additionally, the developers explained their decision to have ZOIs shower in towels rather than using pixelated censorship. They noted that pixelation tends to look out of place in games with realistic graphics, often appearing overly sexualized. Furthermore, they encountered a technical issue where pixelated censorship did not reflect properly in mirrors, prompting them to opt for the towel approach instead.

For those curious about the game's content boundaries, the ratings provided by ESRB and PEGI offer some clarity. inZOI has been rated T (for teens) by the ESRB and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning with the ratings assigned to The Sims 4. These ratings suggest that the game will maintain a level of content appropriate for younger teenage audiences, guiding expectations about the extent of mature themes within the game.
