New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride and Area at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Author : Peyton Apr 27,2025

Exciting new developments have been unveiled for the much-anticipated The Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris, with construction set to begin in Fall 2025. As reported by Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World. This new land will immerse guests in the iconic moments of the beloved 1994 film, featuring a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock alongside a host of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.

A newly released concept image showcases the ride's stunning Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also thrill guests with a dramatic 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the one found in Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Scheduled to open after the grand debut of World of Frozen in 2026, The Lion King ride will be a key component of the expanded Disney Adventure World, doubling the current park's size. Alongside this new attraction, guests can anticipate the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction inspired by Up, designed as a "spinning carousel" offering panoramic views of the park's scenic beauty.

World Premiere entrance at Disney Adventure World

Opening on May 15, 2025, the World Premiere entrance will add to the allure of Disney Adventure World, recreating the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host captivating shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
