Old School RuneScape's newest update plunges players back into the turbulent politics and infernal depths of Great Kourend, where an ancient and wrathful force has awakened. The latest boss, Yama, Master of Pacts, is now available—a fiery minotaur demon who has been amassing power within the Chasm of Fire, biding his time to emerge.
If you completed A Kingdom Divided (and have finished battling Royal Titans), this new content continues directly from that storyline. After confronting Yama’s Judge back in 2021, it was clear the conflict was far from over. The true menace remained hidden—a winged, horned, hooved warrior wielding a devastating two-handed axe. Yama is supported by the Disciples of Yama, fervent fire-worshipping cultists willing to sacrifice everything for him.
This challenging encounter is tailored for high-level adventurers. You must finish the required quest, possess elite combat stats, and bring Best-in-Slot gear to even attempt the fight. Whether you go solo or team up, victory yields valuable rewards such as Demon Tallow for crafting Surge Potions, Chasm of Fire Teleport Scrolls, new Grimoire Pages, and other secret treasures.

The Chasm of Fire has also been enlarged with a new mining and smithing section. Here, you can extract Crimson Lovakite, a rare mineral found only in this blazing abyss. Use it to craft Oathplate, a powerful armor set that enhances your end-game equipment. Even if boss battles aren't your focus, this expansion offers compelling reasons to explore the area.
