Paramount Pictures has announced changes to its movie release schedule, pushing back the release dates for two eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2.
According to Variety, the much-anticipated The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, centered around the iconic Avatar, Aang, will no longer premiere on January 30, 2026. Instead, fans will have to wait until October 9, 2026, to see the film. This marks a delay of nearly nine months from the previously announced date. This is the second delay for the movie, which was initially slated for October 10, 2025. No specific reason for the delay was provided, but it's confirmed that voice actors Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam are still involved. The film, which received its official title at last month's CinemaCon, will explore a story set years after the original series and is the first of a planned trilogy.
Additionally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has also been delayed. Originally set to release on October 9, 2026, the sequel will now hit theaters on September 17, 2027, extending the wait by almost a year. This delay comes after the first film's mid-credits scene teased further adventures for Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. While plot and casting details remain undisclosed, fans can look forward to the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series to tide them over.
