Since World at War introduced the original Zombies spinoff, a complex lore has been woven into each entry. This storyline has grown exponentially over time and remains central to Black Ops 6. Despite an overall decline in the player base since launch, Zombies retains a dedicated community. The wave-based system pits up to four players against escalating enemy waves, often encouraging them to focus on upgrading weapons and defenses rather than advancing the plot. A recent Activision blog post revealed that Directed Mode raised the Black Ops 6 Zombies main quest completion rate from 4% to 8.23%. This statistic is derived from 480 million hours of gameplay, including data collected shortly after the mode's November 14 debut.
