Amazon: PlayStation Portal Discounted $40

Author : Harper Mar 14,2025

The PlayStation Portal, Sony's handheld gaming marvel, is finally discounted—though only on the used market. Amazon Resale currently offers "Used: Like New" condition PS Portals for just $158.70, a significant 20% off the $199 retail price. While a Sony warranty isn't guaranteed, Amazon Resale's 30-day return policy provides peace of mind. Expect these to sell out quickly!

Looks and functions like new. Minor packaging damage noted.

Resembling an extended DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen, the PS Portal streams PS5 games at up to 60fps, mirroring the DualSense's haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and touchscreen. While previously requiring a PS5, a game-changing update now allows streaming directly from PlayStation Now, eliminating the PS5 requirement. Access a library of over 120 games—including Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales—with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. While $18/month for Premium is a cost, it's significantly less than the initial PS5 investment plus individual game purchases.

Note that home streaming isn't exclusive to the PS Portal; the PS Remote Play app offers similar functionality on other devices, but with less streamlined setup and DualSense feature integration.

PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy:

"The PlayStation Portal surprisingly exceeded my expectations. It's far superior to using a phone with an attached controller and works better than anticipated. I appreciate the freedom to play my PS5 anywhere with decent Wi-Fi, especially when the TV is occupied. However, the lack of browser-based Wi-Fi access and Bluetooth audio support are notable drawbacks. Despite these limitations, it's currently the best solution for PlayStation Remote Play; without those issues, it would be a must-have for PS5 owners enjoying handheld gaming."
