The team at Ubisoft Mainz has recently shed more light on the upcoming game, Anno 117: Pax Romana, through an exciting new trailer. While we knew from earlier announcements that the game would feature exploration of two regions, Lazio and Albion, the preview gives us a clearer picture: Lazio serves as the initial setting before players make their way to the main stage in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that players start their journey in the tranquil region of Lazio. However, a sudden disaster forces them to venture into the unknown territories of Britain, referred to as Albion in the game. This region is notorious for its challenging environment, characterized by a harsh climate, defiant tribes, and its significant distance from Rome, making governance a complex task.
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, players take on the role of a governor tasked with navigating these challenges. The key is to manage these adversities without solely relying on force. Instead, players are encouraged to build peace and stability by respecting and integrating local customs. One of the game's standout features is the ability to customize ships. Players can opt for increased speed by adding more oarsmen or enhance their firepower with onboard archery turrets, allowing for strategic gameplay customization.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to launch in 2025 and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms, promising an immersive experience for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
