Two Galar-region Pokémon make their Pokémon Go debut this month, offering both adorable collectibles and formidable battlers. The Sweet Discoveries event introduces Applin and its evolutions, while Dynamax Entei brings explosive power during the Max Battle Weekend.
Sweet Discoveries Event (April 24-29)
The bite-sized Dragon/Grass-type Applin takes center stage during this fruity festival. Evolving Applin requires 200 Applin Candy plus 20 apples - use Tart Apples for Flapple or Sweet Apples for Appletun. These special evolution items can be found randomly in the wild, particularly near active Mossy Lures which may also trigger Applin encounters.
Event spawns feature Bounsweet, Skwovet, and the gift-bearing Delibird. Field Research tasks and Eggs provide opportunities to catch Munchlax and Cherubi. Players can obtain Sweet and Tart Apples through free Timed Research, while premium options offer additional Mossy Lure Modules and Applin encounters.
The in-game shop debuts an Applin-themed Headband and Apron, while PokéStop Showcases will highlight event-specific Pokémon.
Max Battle Weekend (April 26-27)
Legendary powerhouse Dynamax Entei makes its first appearance, with a chance to encounter its Shiny variant. Special event bonuses include:
- Increased Max Particle capacity
 - Shorter distance requirements to collect Max Particles
 - Faster Power Spot recharge rates
 - 8x Max Particle yield from visited Power Spots

Free Timed Research becomes available starting April 21st, rewarding players with a Dynamax Sobble - a valuable water-type counter against Entei's fire attacks.
Prepare for both events by checking active Pokémon Go codes and visiting the Pokémon Go Web Store for special bundles.
