Assassin's Creed Shadows: A March 2025 Release

Ubisoft has announced another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14th launch, this latest postponement aims to further refine and polish the game based on player feedback.

The game's journey to release has been marked by delays. The first, announced in September 2024, shifted the launch from November 15th to February 14th, 2025. While the initial delay cited the need for improvements, this second delay specifically emphasizes incorporating player feedback to enhance the overall experience. Ubisoft's Vice President Executive Producer, Marc-Alexis Coté, highlighted the company's commitment to delivering a high-quality, immersive experience through ongoing player-developer communication. Both delays share a common goal: providing additional time for refinement and polishing.

The September delay saw Ubisoft offer pre-order refunds and free access to the first expansion for those who pre-ordered. While no similar compensation has been announced for this latest delay, the shorter timeframe might mitigate potential player frustration.

This additional delay might also be linked to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its practices, launched to improve player-centricity. This initiative follows a year of record losses and aims to make games more responsive to player needs. Incorporating fan feedback into Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a key component of this broader strategy.
