*Atomfall* is a unique RPG that empowers players to tailor their gaming experience to their preferences. Right from the start, you're given the freedom to choose your playstyle from a variety of options. If you're unsure which to select, this guide will help you understand each playstyle in detail.

*Atomfall* prides itself on offering players the utmost freedom in how they experience its story. When you begin a new save, you'll encounter five different predetermined playstyle modes, each designed to cater to different player preferences.

Sightseer – This "low-pressure mode" is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the story without the stress of combat or survival. Exploration, Survival, and Combat are all set to 'Assisted' difficulty.

Investigator – Ideal for players who enjoy exploring independently without hints or HUD assistance, while keeping combat manageable. Exploration is set to 'Challenging' difficulty, Survival to 'Casual', and Combat to 'Assisted'.

Brawler – Tailored for players who relish combat and don't mind a challenge. Combat is set to 'Challenging' difficulty, while Survival is 'Casual' and Exploration is 'Assisted'.

Survivor – Recommended by the developers, this mode offers a balanced challenging experience across all aspects. Combat, Survival, and Exploration are all set to 'Challenging' difficulty.

Veteran – The most hardcore mode, designed for players who want to test their skills to the limit. Combat, Survival, and Exploration are all set to 'Intense' difficulty.

Choosing the right playstyle initially can be challenging. Fortunately, *Atomfall* allows you to change your playstyle without penalty. Simply pause the game, navigate to 'Options', and under the 'Game' tab, select 'Playstyle'. Here, you can adjust the difficulty of Combat, Survival, and Exploration to suit your preference, which will align you with one of the other playstyles. For more detailed customization, head to 'Advanced Options' to fine-tune multiple aspects of each category.

Which Atomfall Playstyle Should You Start With?

*Atomfall* is designed to offer a balanced experience, but the best playstyle for you depends on what you find most enjoyable. The game provides extensive freedom to choose your challenges.

If you're starting with one of the five default playstyle options, **Investigator** or **Brawler** might be the best choices. These options allow you to test your comfort with the game's combat and unique exploration system. From there, you can adjust your experience as needed.

However, the most flexible option is the customized playstyle. This allows you to tailor every aspect of gameplay to your personal style, from enemy behavior to the ease of exploration and bartering. There are no achievements or trophies tied to specific difficulties, so feel free to change your experience as often as you like.

That wraps up our explanation of all *Atomfall* playstyles. For more tips, check out our content on how to get a free Metal Detector early in the game.
