Bethesda is letting players pay to become an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI

Author : Lucas Mar 17,2025

Bethesda Softworks is offering a truly unique opportunity: a chance to become a permanent part of The Elder Scrolls universe. Through a Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic charity auction, one lucky bidder will collaborate with Bethesda’s developers to design a non-player character (NPC) for The Elder Scrolls VI.

This isn't just about picking a name and appearance; the winner will work closely with the creative team to develop a character with real influence on the game's lore. Imagine: a wandering scholar, a mysterious merchant, or even a legendary warrior—the possibilities are vast. The winner could even see a digital representation of themselves integrated into Tamriel.

Currently, the highest bid sits at $11,050, but with the auction ongoing, that number is sure to rise. Bethesda remains tight-lipped about The Elder Scrolls VI's release date, adding to the excitement surrounding this exclusive opportunity.

Should the auction winner choose to immortalize themselves in The Elder Scrolls VI, they'll join the ranks of Shirley Curry, the beloved "Skyrim Grandma," whose appearance in the game has already been confirmed.

With no official release date announced, The Elder Scrolls VI is unlikely to launch before 2026. However, when it does, one fortunate fan will leave their indelible mark on Tamriel’s history.
