If you're a fan of Pokémon GO, get ready for some exciting events on the horizon. Alongside the ongoing Festival of Colors and Might and Mastery events, the Catch Mastery event is set to add even more thrill to your gameplay.
Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!
Mark your calendars for March 16th, as the Catch Mastery event kicks off from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event shines the spotlight on Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. You'll encounter wild spawns of Omanyte and Kabuto, with the chance to snag their Shiny versions if luck is on your side.
Archen isn't just limited to wild encounters; it will also be up for grabs as a Field Research reward, boasting an enhanced Shiny chance. To sweeten the deal, the event offers XP bonuses, doubling your XP for Nice Throws or better and Curveball Throws.
Don't miss out on the Timed Research associated with the event, which centers around catching Rock-type Pokémon. If you're up for the challenge, you can tackle up to 10 sets of tasks, leading to a whopping 40 Archen encounters.
The Mega Absol Raid Day Is Also Happening Soon
Following closely, the Mega Absol Raid Day is scheduled for March 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Absol will debut a new Charged Attack, Brutal Swing, which will be a permanent addition to its arsenal. This move packs a punch with 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.
In preparation for the event, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be bumped up to 20. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to collect up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, allowing for a total of six passes throughout the day.
