Blizzard Bringing Major Updates to Hearthstone Battlegrounds in Season 9

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9: Cosmic Chaos Arrives December 3rd!

Get ready for a galactic overhaul! Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9 blasts off on December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes, updates, and new features. Prepare for a completely revamped minion lineup and a Tavern that feels brand new.

Technotavern Upgrades & New Tokens:

Bob's Technotavern is getting a major upgrade, and Season 9 resets the rankings. Trinkets are being retired to make way for exciting new Battlegrounds Tokens! These tokens allow you to reroll one hero option at the hero selection screen – perfect for escaping those undesirable choices.

Minion Reveal Schedule:

Before the full launch, Hearthstone is revealing new minions in stages:

  • November 20th: Naga and Dragon reveals.
  • November 21st: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
  • November 22nd: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
  • November 25th: Murloc and Demon reveals.
  • November 26th: Elemental and Undead reveals.
  • December 2nd: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.

More New Additions:

Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo already generating considerable buzz with his Galaxy's Lens ability. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are entering or leaving the pool, shaking up the meta.

A damage cap adjustment affects solo Battlegrounds: early-game damage is capped at 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. This cap is removed once you reach the top 4.

Minion Rollout:

The full update goes live December 3rd, initially including Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs. Murlocs and Demons join the fray on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
