Mastering Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars: A Guide to His Unique Abilities and Best Game Modes

Brawl Stars' newest addition, the limited-time brawler Buzz Lightyear (available until February 4th), offers a unique gameplay experience with his three distinct combat modes. This guide will help you unlock and maximize his potential before he's gone.

How to Play Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear is a free unlock from the in-game Shop, arriving at Power Level 11 with his Gadget already unlocked. He lacks Star Powers and Gears, but his single Gadget, Turbo Boosters, allows for quick dashes, ideal for engaging or escaping. His Hypercharge, Bravado, temporarily boosts his stats. Both Gadget and Hypercharge function across all three modes.

The following table details Buzz's stats in each mode:

Mode Image Stats Attack Super
Laser Mode Health: 6000, Movement Speed: Normal, Range: Long, Reload Speed: Fast 2160 5 x 1000
Saber Mode Health: 8400, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Short, Reload Speed: Normal 2400 1920
Wing Mode Health: 7200, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Normal, Reload Speed: Normal 2 x 2000 -

Laser Mode excels at long-range combat with a burn effect. Saber Mode is a close-range powerhouse, gaining Super charge from damage taken. Wing Mode provides a balanced approach, best at medium range.

Which Game Mode is Best for Buzz Lightyear?

Buzz's adaptability makes him effective in various modes. Saber Mode thrives in close-quarters maps (Showdown, Gem Grab, Brawl Ball), his Super enabling precise positioning. Laser Mode dominates open maps (Knockout, Bounty), the burn effect hindering opponent recovery. He's not available in Ranked Mode, but his Mastery cap of 16,000 points is achievable before his departure.
