How to Unlock Caldarus as a Romanceable Character in Fields of Mistria

To romance Caldarus in *Fields of Mistria*, you must first break the Fire Seal located on Floor 60 of the mines. You'll need to offer four specific items: a Sealing Scroll, a Faceted Rock Gem, an Emerald, and a Rockroot. Once the offering is complete, a dramatic cutscene unfolds where the Mines Priestess warns the farmer to leave or face being sealed. As your character's health depletes, Caldarus heroically intervenes, transforming into his human form, granting you the Dragon's Breath spell, and retreating to the Deep Woods. From this point, you can interact with him daily, much like with other romanceable NPCs in Mistria.
After breaking the seal, Caldarus can be found at his temple in the Deep Woods. Use the Dragon's Breath spell to unlock this area permanently on your map, allowing for regular visits and interactions.
Caldarus’ Heart Events in Fields of Mistria

With the March 2025 update, Caldarus starts with a heart level of six, which is currently the cap. Unfortunately, there are no additional heart events available for him at this time, but future updates are expected to expand on this. Currently, you can experience two cutscenes with Caldarus: an introductory dream sequence at the game's start, which introduces Mistria's magic system, and a pivotal scene where he saves the farmer from being sealed after breaking the Fire Seal, revealing his human form and retreating to recover.
A new feature post-update is the ability to go on a real date with Caldarus during the Shooting Star Festival on Summer 28.

The Shooting Star Festival marks the end of summer in *Fields of Mistria*, offering a chance to take any romanceable NPC with four or more hearts on a date to the Summit to watch the stars. With Caldarus starting at six hearts, you're set to go with him. To secure your date, gift him the Star Brooch before 8 PM on Summer 28 and meet up afterward to confirm. The date unfolds with a cutscene where Caldarus expresses gratitude for the invitation, discusses the stars and the ancient Mistrian tradition of Starbinding, and delves into deep conversations about soul connections and the nature of relationships. The evening concludes with an invitation to watch the stars from his temple.
