Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Considering Switch 2 Port
Studio Head Calls Prospect "Interesting"

The overwhelming success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has developer Sandfall Interactive evaluating a potential Switch 2 release. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche detailed the studio's strategic planning following their breakthrough launch.
He revealed the game's performance "changes everything," with the team actively debating their next strategic moves. Broche elaborated, "Given the game's commercial success, we're essentially reevaluating all our previous assumptions."

When questioned about Switch 2 compatibility, the director explained they're currently fielding numerous opportunities and determining which paths to pursue. "While it's premature to make definitive announcements, we're in the unusual position of having more opportunities than we can immediately process. A Switch 2 version certainly presents an intriguing possibility," Broche clarified.
With Nintendo's next-generation console approaching release, industry observers note the strategic fit for this year's highest-rated game to appear on the anticipated handheld. Whether players will ultimately experience this Belle Époque-inspired RPG on new Nintendo hardware remains to be seen.
Official Merchandise Still in Planning Stages
Sandfall Interactive continues receiving numerous collaboration requests, including persistent fan demand for official plush toys of the beloved character Esquie. The studio clarified they haven't authorized any merchandise yet, cautioning supporters about counterfeit products circulating online. A May 14 Twitter (X) post identified suspicious retailers offering unauthorized Esquie plushies, stating unequivocally: "Please be aware that any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies lack official licensing."
The studio further warned these counterfeit items often feature AI-generated artwork and represent potential scams. However, the development team confirmed they're actively exploring licensed Esquie plushie production.

Their social media update reassured fans: "We're working to offset the disappointment with positive news: official Esquie plushies are under development, and we're committed to delivering them promptly. Until then, we urge patience and vigilance against fraudulent sellers."
With player enthusiasm for Expedition 33 remaining at fever pitch, Sandfall's communications indicate approved merchandise will eventually reach the community.
