The South Korean game rating board, GRAC, has assigned an age rating of "19+" to the highly anticipated game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The rating is due to the game's inclusion of "excessive violence," "excessive profanity, profanity and swearing," as well as scenes depicting the use of various illegal substances.

In other news, game director Hideo Kojima recently honored actress Shiori Kutsuna with flowers to celebrate her completion of work on Death Stranding 2. Kojima expressed his gratitude for Kutsuna's dedication, highlighting her efforts in motion capture, 3D scanning, and voice recording in both Japanese and English across various locations, despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic. Kojima praised her fantastic work and expressed his deep appreciation. Kutsuna has been involved in the project since the fall of 2022.
At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima unveiled new material for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The presentation included several two-minute cutscenes that introduced the protagonist's allies. Among them is Tarman, played by George Miller, who captains the mobile base Magellan, navigating tar lakes. Another character, Dollman, portrayed by Fatih Akin, is a living doll and former medium who has lost his human form. Léa Seydoux reprises her role as Fragile.
Elle Fanning plays a mysterious character named Tomorrow, found in a location resembling the realm of the dead, which ties into the original game's tagline, "Tomorrow is in your hands." One of the cutscenes features characters singing "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," a classic song by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy, portrayed by Shiori Kutsuna.
