Boss fights can be daunting, especially when you're not fully prepared. In *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you'll encounter numerous twists and turns during these battles. Here's a detailed guide on how to conquer the Blade Phantom, ensuring you're ready for every phase of this challenging encounter.
How to Beat Blade Phantom in The First Berserker: Khazan
Phase 1
The ghostly voices that have haunted Khazan will materialize in the Trials of the Frozen Mountain level on Stormpass as the formidable Blade Phantom. This boss will test your stamina management and aggression with its relentless attacks, marking the first multi-phase boss you'll face.
As the fight begins in a castle flooded with crimson liquid, the Blade Phantom unleashes a variety of attacks:
- Six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, the second kick delayed
- Three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick
- Four-hit combo starting with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and ending with a leaping kick smash
- Three-hit combo with flashing punches, followed by a grab that must be dodged
In addition to these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer that causes damage and red spikes to appear. If it uses a spear, be prepared for a quick throw and a teleporting smash. With a blade, it will engage in a swift six-hit combo. It may also disappear and dash around the battlefield before attacking.
Mastering the timing of these attacks to parry or dodge effectively allows you to strike back, depleting its stamina for a Brutal Attack. Continue this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, which triggers the second phase.
Phase 2
The second phase begins with the Blade Phantom unleashing four claw attacks, followed by a spear throw from above. Evade the spear's impact zone and prepare for a leaping swipe. Subsequent attacks include three greatsword slashes and a hammer smash.
While the Blade Phantom retains many of its Phase 1 moves, it now includes a spear thrust and follow-up, along with four to six swift dual-wielding attacks. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when equipped with the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol. Use the Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry this, restoring your stamina and opening the boss to further attacks.
To maximize damage, strike the Blade Phantom when its stamina is depleted and initiate the Brutal Attack just before the window closes. This strategy will help you defeat the boss and earn 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
